Red Light Ripoffs: Pushback Builds
Growing anger over those $500 citations spewed by photo enforcement cameras. They have little to do with safety say critics who claim the creepy, peepy red light cams can actually increase accidents at intersections.Cash-strapped LA loves how the cams have generated $3.2 million in revenue, mostly by ticketing folks making California stops before turning right on red.
And Arnold's about to take it to a whole new level by turning the cams into speed detectors as city, state and cam companies jack up penalties so each can boost shared profits.
